Our 4-part seminar will equip you to pass the NATE test, and we'll facilitate the test after your prep seminars and completed.
This is a 5 week course meeting each consecutive Saturday and NATE exams in week 5.

4 Preparation Classes Plus the exam (5 consecutive Saturdays) beginning 9/2/23
Our prep seminars and testing schedule are help over a 5-week period, with one class each week. The first 4 weeks are devoted to preparation. Week 5 is the week you will that the NATE certification test on-site, with all the Knowledge fresh on your mind.

Q. Does the American Contractors "No Pass, No Pay Guarantee" apply to this course?
No. Since we pay North American Technician Excellence for your initial test, any additional exams will need to be paid for by you. However, in the event you do not pass you may attend additional preparation classes for up to 1 year until you pass.
Q. Is this class offered online?
Yes, we will be offering a streaming version of this course. However, NATE requires all testing to be in-person. So if you want to take part in the testing portion of the class you’ll need to travel to our testing site for Week 5 in order to take the test in person.

Q. Do I need to buy books for this course as well?
Yes. You will need to purchase Guide to the NATE/ICE Certification Exams by Featherstone and Riojas since we will use that book for test preparation

1st Session:
Introduction – About the course, the NATE tests, how to prepare, and how to take them.
Lecture topic: Section 1 Part 1 pages 7-21 includes refrigeration theory, A/C components, refrigerants, lubricants, compressors, air cooled and water-cooled condensers, evaporator coils, metering devices, service valves, leak detection, soldering and brazing, manifold gauges, evacuation, and charging.
2nd Session:
Lecture topic: Section 3 Part 1 Electrical pages 89-113 includes electrical theory, magnetism, direct current, series circuits, parallel circuits, alternating current, power distribution, AC motors, shaded-pole motors, split phase motors, CSIR motors, PSC motors, CSR motors, 3-phase motors, electrical controls, solid-state electronics, wiring layouts and electrical diagrams, meters, electrical troubleshooting.
Lecture topic: Section 4 Part 1 Air Flow and Duct Fabrication pages 115-132 includes air flow tools and measurements, blowers and fans, duct systems and fabrication, flex duct, fiberglass ductboard, air side components, air filters, humidifiers, temperature, and humidity.
Also lecture topic: Section 4 Part 1 on Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) and Safety pages 126-132 includes IAQ, personal safety (3), refrigerant safety (6), soldering and brazing safety (18), and electrical safety (91)
4th Session:
Lecture topic: Discuss specific specialty sections A/C Service, Heat Pumps, and Gas Furnaces.
Classwork: Hand out NATE sample quizzes and take them in class.
Also, give samples of “Fundamentals” questions printed in HVAC News Review test preparation, both physical and mental, and what techs need to bring to the test.
