To obtain this license, one must only pass the trade exam. The Electrical Business and Law exam is not required.
A verifiable license in the unlimited electrical classification issued by a jurisdiction outside of the State of Oklahoma that is current, and in good standing is required to obtain this license.
BONDING INFORMATION:
Electrical Requirements: An Active Electrical Contractor must furnish a Corporate Surety Bond in the amount of five thousand dollars ($5,000.00) to the Construction Industry Board. The bond must be a continuous bond and provide for a thirty - (30) day cancellation notice. The bond must be in the individual license holder's name. Each Active Electrical Contractor must maintain insurance coverage and provide the Construction Industry Board with a certificate of insurance showing such coverage. The minimum allowed is $50,000.00 commercial general liability. The individual license holder's name must be on the certificate of insurance. There must be a thirty- (30) days cancellation notice. There must be a thirty-(30)day cancellation notice. The Certificate Holder is the Construction Industry Board.
Refinery electrical licenses are limited to wiring inside Refinery facilities that are defined as facilities designed and operated to receive, unload, store, process and refine raw crude oil. This license applies to out-of-state electrical workers in Oklahoma Refineries.
Fees must accompany the application. The licensing fee is $75. ($50 for License & $25 for processing)
Applications are reviewed once per week. Wait time for approval should be minimal.
Plumbing, Mechanical & Electrical construction are regulated at the state level.

Important Contacts
The state of Oklahoma does not have any reciprocity agreements for this license. The Board may enter into a reciprocity agreement with another State if the requirements for licensure in the other State are deemed by the Board to be substantially the same or equivalent to the requirements for obtaining an original license by examination in this state
Oklahoma requires that 6 hours of approved CE must be completed every 36 months (3 years). A licensee is exempt from these requirements for 3 years from the date he or she initially passes the current licensing exam. As of July 1, 2014, no contractor or journeyman license shall be renewed unless 6 hours of Continuing Education, within the last 36 months (3 years), have been completed. Thereafter, 6 hours of CE must be completed every 3 years (36 months).
This is a 100 questions open book exam and you will need a 70% to pass and you will have 4-hour time limit to complete. The test fee is $92.00 per exam
