Georgia Statewide LV-U low-voltage licenses are unrestricted in both size and scope.
A Georgia Unrestricted Low Voltage license covers all low voltage work including that work which falls under the General, Alarm and Telecommunications Licenses.

The application fee is $30.00.
Applications must be approved by the Board before an exam can be scheduled.
Effective 10/17/2022 Continuous testing is now available. The Board will send a list of applicants who are approved to sit for an exam to PSI, and PSI will import the information into its system.
PSI will then email each exam candidate a confirmation and instructions on how to schedule their exam appointment. Candidates should allow 7 business days from notice of the Board’s approval to receive the email from PSI. S

The Georgia Board does have reciprocal agreements to accept the results of some examinations conducted by other state boards. The Georgia Board will accept results of approved examinations conducted by:
1. North Carolina
With your application, you must submit a certification letter from the respective state board verifying that you hold a license and have passed the state examination.
No Continuing Education Requirements currently exist in Georgia for Low Voltage Classifications.
- The testing company is AMP.
- The exam is now offered throughout the year. It is an open book, timed test with weighted questions and a 4-hour time limit.
- The Low Voltage Unrestricted exam has 90 questions.
- It is a two-part test with Business and Law type questions and technical questions.
- All questions are multiple-choice. A score of 70% is required to pass the exam.
- The exam fee is $206.00
If you should fail the exam twice, you must complete a state approved training course before testing again.
Veterans may have 5 to 10 points added to their exam scores by submitting documentation that they served a minimum of one year in active duty status and must have served during a period of conflict or war for a minimum of 90 days. Or, discharged for an injury or illness that occurred in the line of duty and the disability is officially rated.

American Contractors offers a 2-day Low-Voltage Unrestricted seminar to prepare individuals to take the Georgia Low- Voltage Unrestricted Contractor's License exam. This seminar is based on the Unrestricted Low-Voltage exam, but will help students preparing for any of the Georgia Low- Voltage classifications.
